I got a buzz from the Johnson throttle control unit. You know the one where you turn the key. I was getting into shallow water and wondering if this was some type of depth indicator... The buzz went away after I shut off the ignition and let the craft set for a while. Can anyone tell me what that sound is all about?

It was an engine over-heat horn. In shallow water, you were probably pulling sand into the cooling passage's causing an over-heat. I guess you could call it a kind of depth indicator too.
