Hey guys,

I have a 63' Evinrude. I used the wiring diagram provided here. http://mercury.walagata.com/w/chapsboy/5557180.jpg
Everything is to the "T". But I can't get the motor to turn over at all. The only time that I thought the motor had life, is when I jumped the starter directly.

So my questions short of any other insights are;
(these are all per the diagram)
1)Does the SOL terminal on the ignition goes via white wire to the second terminal from the left on the solenoid.
2)Does one magneto wire go to the MAG terminal on the switch and the other to ground?
3)Does the furthest left terminal on the solenoid go via green wire to the BAT terminal on the switch.

Hope you all can help soon. It is 12:44 pm and in the 80's. I have to get on the water today!!!!

Check the solenoid. it could be toast. If you replace, do not use an automotive one. it may look the same but it's totally different
