Re: Duroboat

That's really nice joint for the chine, but what about the bow apex and transom? It is either rivetted or welded....I'm not a fan of welded boats thinner than .080" skin...Why? Warpage and the welds will break...Aircraft are rivetted, not welded...

Michael J.

Re: Duroboat

I bought a well used 12' with a 1970's something 4.5 hp Merc for the job of getting back and forth my mooring bouy on Puget Sound. I generally have to beach the Whaler, pull the Duro off the 4' bulkhead and drag it down the beach into the water by myself. It spends the rest of the weekend getting getting beached on a rocky shore, abused by kids, and going back and forth to the bouy. Not an easy life!

I've had it three years and it has held up very well. It's a deep boat (requires a long shaft), manuvers well when rowing, and seems more durable than other aluminums that were put to the same test.

Matt
