Hi all, I have an older Johnson SuperSeaHorse 40 HP,electric start. Not sure of the year but I pulled a few numbers off the motor, (307770) and also found 307759 on back next to spark plugs along with 307806 AC there as well. <br />My problem is this I drained the lower unit fluid and it was off-color & milky looking. I replaced it and went out on the water afterwards. I shortly noticed it was again seriously lacking power (15 mph tops) and it was not reaching WOT. I just drained it and same thing on the fluid. Guessing could be a shaft seal or? Any help would be much appreciated.
