yeah i am about to purchase a 2001 90 Evinrude still in crate and was wondering if any of you guys have any reviews on this motor because i can't get any reviews anywhere on this motor all i keep finding are problems with the bigger horsepower motors of the 2001 model year

Welcome to iboats. I had a 2000 Ficht 150hp and that thing ran perfectly for the 3 years I had it, and is still running fine for the guy who bought it. Most of the Ficht problems were worked out by the time your 2001 was made, and most of the problems were with the 60 degree V6, 150 and 175 hp's. Are you getting any kind of warranty with it?

Yeah i am getting a 2 year warranty from the time of purchase. Apparently the reason the dealer still has one is because of the price. They finally dropped the price considerably!

well i have a 2002 model, good engine ....till i had it serviced !!! now it has an intermittant completely wont do anything??? tried 3 other dealers and still the same ???
