28hp fine @ idle and WOT but dies in between

I have a 28hp johnson, '95 or '96. Starts alright, idles alright but will stall when I try and throttle up. Only way to get it to keep going is if I gun it to wide open right away. At WOT it runs fine as well...Any ideas?

It's time for a carburetor rebuild.<br /><br />Easy, with a manual. See the bottom left corner of this page for manual ordering info.
