I have a 1194 30hp, and I have never had any issues with this motor until the other day.
It has always been worked on in a shop
(tune-ups/gear oil changes/etc) Until recently.
A couple of weeks ago, it quit while being out on a lake.
Long story shorten, a srew was loose on the carb bowl and gas was draining from the carb.
I tighten up the bolt and she run like a charm again, except that now I am concerned.
I can see inside the carb... there is no cover or anything on the front of the carb. I can see inside to the choike butter-fly.
I can't find any pic to know it this is normal or not.
I bought the boat and motor brand new in '94 and for the life of me, I can't remember if it ever had anything in front of the carb or not.
It appears as if there are 3 holes that something would mount too.... Am I just thinking that my old shop decided it didn't need this or what?
BTW, I have moved to a different state and can't go and visit the shop.... or I would....
I have attemted to find a pic of a 30 under the cowl, but haven't been successful.....
Looking for help.... if it is somethign I am missing I am going to the local dealer and ordering it....
Thanks for any input....
