I have a Johnson 150 ocean runner 1997. The check engine light comes on every few times I start it up. I cleaned the inline engine filter, changed my racor filter and took the fuel tube out of the gas tank to check the screen which was clean. There are no kinks in the fuel line. I removed the anti-syphen valve. Today I ran for a hour at 4000rpm then at idle for half an hour and it was fine. I shut if off and when I restarted the lite and alarm sounded. I then shut if off again and restarted and it was fine. What else can I look for. Thanks

im having a similar problem but my problem is from losing prime which i havent fixed yet. %%There is a sensor which activates the alarm. If the motor is running fine then its possible the sensor could be going bad.

Is the sensor in a location where I can get at it?<br />The engine runs great at high rpm's and the alarm comes on at low rpm's, it just doesn't make sense to me. When the alarm is on it still runs at top end without any symptoms of being starved for fuel.
