Points or Pick-up? ...1975 Evinrude 50hp "Sizzler"

Does anybody know if this motor has Points or Electronic ignition? It's been running great, then last weekend it started to hiccup under acceleration and now won't start at all. Best I can determine there is no spark (plugs are new... and wet). Was wondering if points might be the culprit (if it has them!).

Welcome to iboats. I don't have a manual for your engine so I can't tell you. Go ahead and get a good service manual as the price is about a half an hour of the going shop labor rate. If you are in a hurry your local library might have a copy that you can browse.
