Water outlet question

Does the rear vent (not the tell-tale, the one just below cylinders) exit water only if the thermostat opens? <br /><br />The reason I ask is the tell-tail water is always cold when running on the garden hose, but after a while the water spitting out the rear vent is warmer.

Mark,<br /><br />The "rear vent" is actually an exhaust relief. It relieves the back pressure in the leg.<br /><br />At idle, you'll only get a spray once the stat is open.<br /><br />It stands to reason that it would be warm, after a while.
