Is Stabil or a similar product really necessary?
I live in north FL, where it rarely freezes or even gets below 40F for that matter.
I do not do any Special Storage prep. for my boat when the usage goes down to say once a month in the winter months here.

If you run it once a month, forget the stabilizer. As long as you use up enough fuel to get some fresh in the tank and carbs, you're fine...

Just a suggestion here OMceed....I make a habit to use 2+4 from Bomby. It acts as a fuel system cleaner and fuel stabilizer all in one. Cheap to use and takes the worry outta gas going bad as well as keeping the system clean of varnish.

Agree with OBJ. I use Briggs and Stratton stabilizer. Keeps fuel good for 24 months.
