why would the engine all of a sudden go from full throttle to about a quarter throddle on my 92 evenrude 60 pros series please email me with anser if u have on at mac1965@verizon.net

We encourage posting rather than sending emails direct since others may benefit by the information. Now to your questions:<br /><br />1. There are two plugs on the grarcase that have a regular flat blade screwdriver slot (about a 1/2" slot). You check your oil by loosening the lower. If the oil is white or choclate brown you have water in the gearcase and a job ahead of you. You check for level by removing the lower plug and screwing a tube of oil into the gearcase. Then remove the upper and squeezing the tube until the oil flows out of the top and then reinsert the top plug followed by the lower. Each plug has a seal that should be replaced.<br /><br />2. Sudden drop in rpm could be water in the fuel or air leak. It could also be an early warning of running out of fuel.<br /><br />Get the OMC shop manual for your motor as it coveres these things and tons of others.
