Motor will not rev up

I just put a 50hp(74) on a 15' bayliner<br />We ran it for about 1 hour on the lake fine.<br />Then it quit running up to WOT.<br />When you push the throtle forward it will only power up to about a fast idle.<br />If you stop for a few minutes then it will power up for about 10 seconds then die down to a fast idle again.<br />Any idea on what is causing this problem?<br />Thanks

sounds like the carbs are dirty i have had the same problem with my 40hp and i rebiult the cards and new plugs ran great

When it bogs check for spark. you could be losing a cylinder. You need to check for a fuel problem first by squeezing the primer bulb when it bogs. If it picks up it might be time to rebuild the carbs or check for air leaks or a fuel restriction or .............
