I have an Evinrude 2 and one half hp outboard. Year is 1987, model is E3RCUA. SN cannot be found but would appreciate where to look. My question is this: "Where is the cooling water taken in and where is the cooling water expelled." I have found two rows of holes half way down the engine shaft. What are they for? Thank you.

Hi Sounder...welcome aboard iboats....

The holes you found on the midsection is the exhaust holes. Water is expelled from the engine with the exhaust. If you look under the anti-cavitation plate just above the prop, you should find where the water comes into the water pump.

Hope we've helped...

Re: Evinrude cooling system

Thanks OBJ. These older engines seldom come with a manual. Thanks again.
