Hello all, My 175hp evi developed a problem yesterday. I dropped her in at the ramp and ran to the inlet. About 10 minutes into the run I lost about 1/2 power and could only run about 1500 RPM. It seems to me that I lost bout 1/2 the cylinders. When I gave it gas it sounded bad but as soon as I let off it would sound better at the lower RPM. The wierd thing is when I turned it off and chilled out for a little bit it would run fine for about 15 minutes then do it again. I anchored up and fished for about 1 hour and started it up and ran to the boat dock where it ran perfect all the way back to the dock! What do you think?

Tim

Either that or you're overheating and SLOW is kicking in. Text you heat sensors, especially the one with 2 wires going to it.

Also... There's an optical sensor. I would change it first(cheaper and easier), but it's usually the power pack on those engines.

Thanks folks,
As for the over heating I did check the operating temp and it was only 160-170 which is not the overheat temp. What do you guys think?

Tim
