Hey guys. Having some trouble with my 2000 130HP 2-stroke Johnson. She runs fine wide open but after getting hot, if I slow to idle and after a couple of minutes running idle, she'll miss, cough ... wait 30 seconds or so ... miss, cough ... and so on ... and sometimes will stall out. I'm thinking she's "loading up" running too rich at idle. Anyone have any thoughts? Any hints on how to correct? She has 4 carbs and I've never had to synchronize carbs before ... is it something I'm better off taking to a mechanic?

Don't take it to a mechanic just yet, the experts will be with you in a little while.

Sneezing is a symptom of running lean, not rich, BB.

You can buy yourself a Service Manual and a box of tools for a lot less than a shop would charge you to do a "linkage and synchronization" adjustment. With the manual it is quite straightforward.

Good luck. :)
