25hp johnson trouble

i have a 1995 johnson 2cyl. motor has been running fine but today left boat landing full throttle motor ran approxmiatley 6 min and cut completly off. tried to restart motor ran like crap never letting me give throttle but would idle some motor spitting and sputtering. so came home changed gas and oil thing might have water in gas tank but still have same prob. would someone please help

If that was caused by water, you'll need to drain the carburetors, then with the spark plugs out, crank the engine over quite a few times (with the fuel primer engaged) to blow out whatever water may be within the crankcase.<br /><br />Then install new spark plugs before attempting to restart.

Welcome to iboats hygiene!<br /><br />Check and see if you have spark to both cylinders. Sounds like you lost one.

thanks for the suggestions found out it was trash in the carburetor, cleaned it and now its running like a top.
