I just need to verify this again. The fuel/oil mixture for this motor is 24:1 or 50:1? My last posting replys said 24:1 but when I went to buy motor oil mix all the marine shops in my town are telling me not to go 24:1 but 50:1 because of higher grade of fuel today and better oil. I don't want to burn this motor up with too little oil but I don't want to foul it either. :confused:

Stick with the 25:1 mix MC. The reason being, back then they built the engines with bushings instead of bearings or needle bearings. The 25:1 mix insures the bushings will get lubricated. Decarb her once in a while and she will do fine.
