Hey

Why do I get a black film all over the boat after it rains -- I dont mean just the black streaks but actually like a thin black film which does not scrub off with soap. I have to use Simple green, but I dont want to scub with simple green every time it rains. Can this be some kind of reaction from the wax????? It is very frustrating when the boat is clean but then after it rains it looks filthy. Any Ideas/how can I stop this from happening??? Thanks COOL IT!!!

..it is common on white automobiles, RV's, etc. Wax will reduce the occurence but not eliminate it.

It's pollution in the Long Island air, like Bondo said. For giggles, go 10-20 miles offshore, then turn around and look at the yellow cloud that you just drove out of. That's what's on your boat. I lived on the raritan bay for a long long time. Waxing or washing with one of those washes that includes teflon really seems to help keep it from sticking.
