Newbie with a boat motors so. She just picked up a boat with a 90hp Johnson. A new oil tank was put in last year per the prior owner, but when I looked, while I see the new oil tank, the wiring to it is not connected. I do not see a connector that it would fit, so I am trying to figure out how to wire it up so it works correctly. Any other helpful hints on setup and such on this unit would also be appreciated

Re: Oil System Question

There should be a two wire connection on the powerhead. You will have to run the wire harness back to the motor and bring it through the lower engine cover where the main wiring harness goes through. Before starting the motor, make sure the primer bulb at the oil tank is hard. This will make sure that there is no trapped air in the system.

Re: Oil System Question

Should also mention that the wiring harness on the oil tank is a low oil warning system. Once you have it connected it will not sound an alarm unless the oil level is less than a quarter full.
