I have a johnson sea horse ser.#820729, model HD 2.5 O.B.C. H.P., year 1946 to 1950. The carb is leaking from the top of the float. Can the float be adjusted or does it need to be replaced? Looking for info on how to replace or fix? thanks.

Howdy, Mommasays.

Yes, float can be adjusted. . . if it hasn't sunk (this does happen).

You may just have a stuck float or float needle.

Go to your local library and borrow (or copy appropriate parts of) a Repair Manual. Do this before you start.

Carb overhaul kits are available at a JohnnyRude dealer or NAPA Auto Parts store.

Moving this to JohnnyRude Troubles.

Good luck. :)
