Recently purchased a 1975 85hp Johnson (still going strong) but the tilt/trim motor wires have been completely removed. I believe it's a three wire system. I need to know where the switch wires connect to (field windings, brushes, etc.)
My last post may not have been clear enough. There are no wires coming out of the tilt/trim motor and the brushes have been removed. Field windings and armature check out OK. I need to know how the motor is configured and connected. I believe it's a three wire connections.<br />Jud
<br /><br />The black wire would be grounded. The blue wire goes to the UP relay and the green wire goes to the Down relay.
