prop size and pitch

i have a 1980 Procraft 17ft. bass boat with a 1984 Evinrude 150hp VRO engine. I'm trying to find out what size and pitch of prop i would need. preferably a stainless prop. thanks in advance.

I'd probably start testing with a 19. I wouldnt be surprised if you could go bigger, depending on your set up and intended use.

I have a friend north of me here that has a 17ft procraft with a 150 Merc XR, and he uses a 21P laserII. spins it about 5600-5700 with both of us in it. Gear ratios might be different though.

I have a 19ft Stratos with a 1984 Johnson 150hp V6. I use a 4 blade 21 pitch.

4-blade is great as long as you have a jackplate to maximize the use of the 4th blade...other-wise you're loosing some efficiency.
