Hi,

Johnson 1992 model, europe, electric start 2 stroke.

Got problems starting my engine. When I turn the key, the engine turns exactly as it should but it wont start. It sounds very much like there is no fuel getting to the engine as it just turns and does not splutter or show signs of life at all. After trying for some minutes (stopping for breaks inbetween) it suddently decides to break into life (albeit a bit spluttery for first time it catches), and then I can stop and start the engine like there was never a problem - untill the next day when I start all over again. Start motor ok, battery ok, fuel seems ok, and engine runs start and stops like a clock when it has first started. The engine does not even need to be warm to be able tos tart and stop ok, it just needs to have started once and then its ok for the rest of the same day! Airlock, carb problems, primer problems? - HELP PLEASE!

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Does the choke not work? If it seems like it is not getting fuel you should be able to choke it or use the primer if you have one on your key switch.
