I took my boat out yesterday and I could get it to start, but it would only run for a second then die. It sounded as if it would run out of gas. I unhooked the line feeding into the motor and squeezed the primer bulb. Periodically I could get a little gas to flow but not much. Also for the first time I felt something solid inside the primer bulb. I'm assuming that I need to buy a new kit to run from the tank to the motor, but I'm cheap so I wanted to make sure before I spent the money.

Re: Starving Engine

I assume you were depressing the ball valve when you disconnected hose and noted flow while pumping bulb.In any case ,it sounds like you are a candidate for a new primer bulb.
