60 hp hard to start when cold

my 60 hp johnson 1990 is very hard to start when it is cold.is there a choke setting ? after it is warm itll start on the first crank.even when i hold the key in to prime it itll still kill for awhile and when its about 60 or colder out forget it.. tks

Next time you try starting it cold try pumping up the primer bulb until it's completely firm and push in on the primer button for a 5 or six count before energizing starter with it still pushed in.Once engine fires,you may need to intermittently push in on it until the engine settles to a smoothe idle.
