HP differences?

How much difference in the performance and horsepower rating between the year 1985 XP 150 through later years up to 2004 150 Evinrude?

none, both rated the same way.

I think the changeover year from the old hp rating method was about 1983.

Lark40 is correct. It's '83' for the domestic engines. The imports were a couple years before that.
