Re: boat leak

Best way is to tighten the rivets you can get to. Hardest part is to find the leaks. some put water in the hull and mark all the leaks you can find. Any leaky rivets you can get to both sides of use a backing hammer under the boat and tighten from the inside side. You can get a die that fits the head but if you are gentel can tighten most with out the special tools. The ones you can not get to are harder to seal.

http://www.iboats.com
search for ALUMINOX PUTTY

http://www.cabelas.com/
Then search for Rivet repair

Thanks Salty,I needed a good laugh.Thats exactly my kind of humor!!! OK Richard back to your ribbets.Get a wire wheel and clean the ribbets off as good as you can.Wipe with acetone when you are done and apply a nickel size dab of 3m 5200 sealant.Wet your finger and smooth the edges .Do this and your ribbets will leak no more.I did a 25ft cabin cruiser some years back and it stayed dry as could be for years.Charlie
