Re: Johnson 25 1976
Thew air mixture setting is initially 1 3/4 turns out from gently seated in bottum of threads. Never tighten this screw. From that, with boat moving in water, forward gear, first run in a minute wot, then let boat drift at the lowest stable iddle. Turn screw in in 1/4 turns waiting for motor to respont to new setting. It rpm gets high, lower them by the little screw at throttle gear jusl below cowling at port side of motor. When the point is reached where the motor starts to sneeze, cough or miss, the best setting is 1/8 turn out from there. Bad iddle can also be caused by dirty carb, weak ignition on one cylinder and other problems
