i have a 85 johnson 115 at full throttle you can hear a slight rattle,you can put your hand on the flywheel and shake it hard and you can hear it rattle a little bit though you cant feel it move at all,is this normal? or is it a problem?
Welcome!<br /><br />The flywheel (crank) will have some movement although there is no spec on how much. If you hear a rattle at speed it may be the pistons losing support from normal wear or they may be losing support from stuck rings. If you havent decarboned in a while it might not hurt to try that. Naturally a compression test is in order before you do anything.<br /><br />Good luck!
