OMC 25 Lower Unit

Hey guys, <br /><br />I've got a 1973 evinrude 25 that's getting water in the lower unit. I pulled it of to find that the water pump gaskets were all rotted out. Can water get down the drive shaft into the gearcase that way or do I have a seal out in the drive shaft assembly? I pulled the gearcase apart to find that the spagetti seal and the gasket sealant were in good condition, but I might be missing something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a seal around the drive, and prop shaft. There is an 0-Ring, and fiber washer for the shift rod bushing. There is an 0-ring around the prop shaft bushing, along with the spagetti . They should all be replaced when doing a reseal. Also the oil plug gaskets.
