Evinrude 6HP what year

I recently inherited an Evinrude 6HP motor; Model no 6704M, serial no 315711. Can anyone tell me what year it was manufactured? Also can it be adapted to remote control steering, throttle, gear change?<br />Thanks in advance

Welcome to iboats.<br /><br />That would be a 1977. Small Johnnyrudes are usually adaptable to remote control, but I'm not sure about yours.
