Welcome to iboats Rob!<br /><br />For the "big" engines, there is not an "original" prop size. The engines are proped for the craft they are mounted on. Proping will entail several things like, WOT rpm (which is really the most important), hole shot and best all around use if your not into speed or special purpose.<br /><br />How the engine is mounted on the rig is important also. Too low and the engine is sluggish and won't perform worth a crap. Too high and you'll cavitate at high rpm. <br /><br />If your not sure about all these things, take it to a trusted dealership and let them rig it for you. I'm also sure some of the other guys on the forum will also give you good advice.<br /><br />Thanks for posting.
