I recently bought a 25 hp evinrude and have a couple of questions, firstly what is the correct mixture for oil and gas, the model # is e25rlerc and secondly when i go to full throttle the power drops off by about 20% and only regains when i ease off the throttle. Any advice will be greatly recieved.<br />Thank you in advance

Ronnie.... The engine is a 1994 model and the mixture is 50/1 (1pt of 50/1 oil to 6gal gas). A octane rating of 87 will be fine.<br /><br />Check to see that the throttle might be adjusted wrong which would allow the carburetor throttle butterfly to go beyond the full throttle (level butterfly) position (some carbs are designed where they can do that) whereas it would start to close in the oposite direction.<br /><br />Also, the carburetor may be fouled which would necessitate removing the carb, then cleaning and rebuilding it, but check the above first.
