Hy all,could someone tell me if there are other engines that have the same crank as in a evinrude 40 HP from 1976. i bought an engine (2nd hand) and the crank of that thing is messed up and i need an other but perhaps a crank from a 50 HP would fit????

Welcome eenhorn!The cranks that I found that would fit are the from the 74 and 75 40 hps. Don't look like anything else will fit. The crank from the 50 will not fit....the 50's where loopers and the 40 a crossflow.FYI...the original PN number was 386075 which was superceded by PN 393803.

thanks for the info (and for the welcome) hmmm that's not good :S i hoped a 50 hp would fit but now i'm stuck to find a 40 hp one .... those are hard to find. o well , guess i'm up to some massive posting then. bye bye

Put a "Want Ad" in the iboats classifieds. Check with TwinCity Outboard....do search, should pop up.
