Prop clearance

Question, is the prop supposed to clear the transom? I have a center console and the prop only clears about half the transom. I guess I could say that it does not cut the water 100%.

What engine are you running?The anti-ventilation plate of the engines lower unit should be even with or slightly above the true bottom of the boat hull when trimmed level/parallel with the hull.This is just a starting point.Prop selection also plays a big role.<br /><br />If you don't have an adjustable jackplate ,the engine is either mounted too high or a different prop selection may be the fix.Let us know what engine you have and the prop diameter/pitch you are currently using.

As I said in your other post, it appears as though you have a 20" shaft engine on a 25" transom, UNLESS you have a jackplate that is adjusted too high.
