Guys...can anyone come up with a part number for the starter paw spring.....5hp Johnny, TD-20 (46'-49')? I got a few of these older engines I'm playing with....2.5hp Johnny, HD-25.

Could use some carb gaskets and floats for both engines if anybody can put me onto a place to get them....havn't tried the Antique Outboard site yet but will.

Thanks folks...Jim

Re: Starter Paw Spring

Hi OBJ,
Those springs are getting scarce in the OTC sense. I have made a few out of guitar strings and they work quite well. Helps if you have one to use as a pattern...
- Scott

Re: Starter Paw Spring

Thanks Chinewalker...good ID!! The boy is going to lose high E on his axe tonight... :) :)

Thanks for the link Paul....that gave me some new ideas. The 2.5 runs after soaking the carb out over night. Had to reuse the old gaskets but they sealed OK with just a touch of gasket sealing compound. The problem is the little beauty surges and I believe its the float giving me the problem. We'll keep you all udated on what goes on.

Thanks.....Jim

For what it's worth, the OMC part number for that spring is #41,195.
