Does anyone know the correct name and part number for the seal that is under the timing advance plate? I have oil getting on my points, coils etc.Also how difficult is it to change? I am relativly new at outboard repair, other than tune-ups and maintenance. This forum has really helped with my trouble shooting. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Also, how can i get, perhaps, an exploded diagram with the different part numbers and part names for that year motor.Once more thank you all. I would give you the model and serial number but I don't have them in front of me right now. I do have a repair manual.

That's the name for it alright, upper crankcase seal(s). It's easier to replace the upper crank seal, the lower seal requires you to remove the powerhead. A parts list for your motor will have exploded views and part numbers. Find the model number of your motor and pop over to Parts for exploded views.The good folks right here at iboats could probably help you with parts too.
