HELP! Pressurized Tank Question

I have a Johnson Seahorse RD-15 25HP outboard, and also, what I thought was the right gas tank to go with it. I had it up for sale on Ebay, and someone told me that the tank was not correct, and it wasn't pressurized. I wanted to check with you to see if that was true, as the gas tank hookup fitting, does fit my Johnson Rd-15. We haven't tried hooking it up and running it, as my husband doesn't have the time. I'm attaching some pics and asking you experts, if this is in fact the wrong type of tank, also if it is wrong, how do I recognize the right one? Your help is much appreciated!
Re: HELP! Pressurized Tank Question

That is a pressurized tank. That little silve button in the second photo is the manual pump.

Mom

What is the serial number? By that we can determine what year and can tell you all kind of things about your engine such as presurized, gas mixture etc... What is the Item number on Ebay? Looks presurized to me but will know for sure with model number.

Its a 53 or 54. Should be the proper tank.

Re: HELP! Pressurized Tank Question

Flexon,
The serial number is 1086638. Like I said, it's a RD-15, manufactured in Waukegan, IL. The auction ended today, though it did not sell as yet, so you wouldn't be able to look up the auction. I'm somewhat ambivalent to relisting it, till I straighten out this fuel tank issue. In the email the guy sent me, he said "That is not the proper tank that goes with this year motor. It is not a pressurized tank" though he never explained his reasoning. I don't know if he figured it was wrong because the tank is by Evinrude, and it's a Johnson outboard. Were specific tanks made for specific years these motors were produced? I admit, I don't know much about these, but his claims don't seem to make sense.

Re: HELP! Pressurized Tank Question

No TiredMom, different tanks were not used. Both engines used the same pressurized tank. And that is the right tank for the motor as already posted. I would ask the gentlemen who emailed you to give some sort of explaination for his reasoning. And thank you for posting on our forums. If we can be of any further help, just ask.....the guys here are freindly and glad to help out any Mom in distress...... :)

Re: HELP! Pressurized Tank Question

Hello
Take very high-quality pictures of the motor and tank with as good a description as possible, that is the key to selling on Ebay. There will definitely be a buyer if you can make a good listing. And yes, that tank is pressurized for sure.
