Hi:

A friend asked me if I could help him find the year of his engine and spark plug gap on his old Johnson engine. All we know is it is a 30 HP OB and the model # is J30ELCRR and Serial # E6004755. He doesn't have a manual with this motor

Thanks for your help!

Is there a website, where this information is available. Looked around on some of the boating sites and didn't find anything.

That's a 1984, Chipso.

Your plugs may be gapped at .030" to .040"; .030" is best for all-round use and .040 allows lengthy periods at idle without fouling.

Good luck. :)
