Fuel mixture

I have read that Johnson changed from 24:1 to 50:1 in 63/64. I have several of the old V4s. The 75HP was built from 60 to 66. Was something changed internally to run the lower oil mix or did they change the recommendation for some other reason?

Hello conoeboy and welcome to iboats!<br /><br />Yeah, they changed from using bushings to needle bearings like in the wrist pins.
