Default Disappointed in new 2008 Sylvan

I just took receipt of my new 2008 Sylvan Pontoon and am very unhappy with the work the dealer did as well as the quality of the boat! I've attempted to get help fromthe dealer but have had no responce! I even sent them a registered letter. I've spent hours looking for a contact number for Sylvan (smokercraft) but have been unable to locate one. Apparently, they like my dealer don't care to support their product after the sale is complete! Buyers be where!

For what it's worth, I too found Sylvan's build quality sub par.

I bought a 13 foot Alaskan Deluxe Brand new and for the entire year I was picking curly metal shavings from the deck. I complained to Sylvan and never received any response.

It was from all the holes they drilled into the aluminum and they never bothered to clean them out. Even after I flushed under the flooring with a hose several times many sharp pieces of metal continued to re-appear because they were trapped under the crossmembers under the flooring.

So that was a $1,500 investment and the following year I spent 13k on another new boat, but this time it was a Lund even though Sylvan had a similar model.

Good business on Sylvan's part, Huh?

Speak with your wallet next time and don't buy a Sylvan product.

Also recount your story over at Complaints.com as I did. And include Sylvan's customer service email along with whoever there CEO is.

Complaints.com will send them a copy of your complaint that you just listed on the web for anyone who does a search with the word Sylvan in it. It takes a couple of weeks to appear, but you will see your complaint come up when you do a search eventually.

It stays up there too. A year later I was selling a 9.9 Merc and I posted a complaint about the way Merc treated me on another issue. I actually had to delete my original complaint before I put the motor up for sale as it still came up in a google search a year later. Mrc solved my issue but I did not like the way everthing was handled.

Good Luck!
