Default Advice Regarding Trophy 1903 CC

I am considering purchasing a Trophy 1903 CC and looking for advice. I currently have a 15 foot Boston Whaler (150 Sport), which I use exclusively for fishing in Falmouth MA (Vineyard Sound and Buzzards Bay). Because the waters I fish can be a bit choppy, I am looking for a slightly bigger fishing boat that will give a smoother, drier ride. The Trophy 1903 CC was suggested as one possibility and another possibility is the 19 foot Boston Whaler Montauk (190 Montauk). I have no experience with Trophy boats so any advice would be very helpful.

Default Re: Advice Regarding Trophy 1903 CC

I have a 1998 Trophy 1903. I love the boat, but it is cursed. It kills any engine attached to it.

The boat has a great ride even in rough chop, and is fairly dry. The electrical system is easy to access, but the bilge and aerator pumps are difficult to reach if you have short arms like me. Plenty of storage, but the fish boxes allow water from the deck to leak in, and the drains on mine are up on the side, so a little bit of water is always standing in them.

The boat is great. I just wish I could find an engine that would last. I replaced a 120 Force with a 150 Optimax that died after 2 hours.
