Default Some new upgrades on my 2302

Well I'm still waiting on my motor parts...back ordered from Merc. ( stator, regs, and trigger ) but I did a little upgrades to my boat. here is before and after. She's a 2004

before. 11/04

now. 10/09

Had "Eye Lids" and new smoked Isinglass installed so I could keep my enclosure up at all times with the lids rolled up for good air circulation and visibility, and roll them down (the lids) when the weather gets rough! I didn't have the back glass changed out for $$$ reasons and It already had the roll up center, but once I get rolling again I'll replace it also with smoked glass too. Got rid of the Aluminium prop and replaced it with an Apollo S.S. prop, a new dig. ant. which is down right now, and I also slapped on the boats name " Biposto " that's Italian for, crew of 2. ( me and the Admiral ) Oh yea, I also installed a Minn Kota 3 bank battery charger too, that's why I'm waiting on parts for the motor that doesn't run any more cause I burnt up a few things when I hooked up ALL 3 batteries wrong! ( it was real dark in the area I installed it in ) Need to get new wheels and tires, and brake pads for the trailer. Now, all I need is a JOB ! so I can afford to go fish'n!

well jam, the prop has given me little more "bite" in bigger seas, approx. 0.25 mls per gal more, and on 100 gal tank thats fine with me...got my rpms right up to where they should be. the only thing that sucks is "reverse" I have to back down the ramp much more to get the boat off the trailer lost the "bite" in reverse. I'll try to find my numbers for you with 3 different props

Ah! found them! the props I've been testing took about 2 months of running and with a cheap budget these props fell into line, and with the big help of Ken2 @ prop gods I found the prop. I would like to go for the 15 X 15 enertia that would give the best of all worlds for the boat, but it was out of my price range. One day I'll get it and use the Apollo as a spare.

Silverado 14 1/2 X 15 : Goal 5600 WOT

4000 rpm - 13 mph off plane
4500 rpm - 23.8 mph
4700 rpm - 27 mph
4800 rpm - 28 mph
5000 rpm - 29-30 mph
5600 rpm - 33-34 mph
WOT - 5800 - 5900 200-300 over / spun like a SOB !!

14.25 X 17 Apollp Goal 5600 rpm /worst one, lugged big time, too big

RPM MPH all GPS
3000 13.7-14 On plane
3400 16.2
3500 21.2
3800 27.1
4000 28.3
4500 32.5
4800 35
5000 36.5
5050-5075 38 WOT trimmed up just before blow out

Apollo 14 3/8 X 15 best of them, good overall

Rpms MPH
3500 13.3 off plane
3800 16.5 on plane
4000 18.7
4500 27
4800 30.5
5000 32.3
5500 35.9
WOT was 5500 RPM - 65 gals fuel. - wind 15 mph - seas 1-2' chop - 2 peps med load for fishing

Hey Frankie G.- You've done a terrific job both on your upgrades and the overall care the the boat. The reflecton off the hull makes it look like it is right off the showroom floor, and by your posts its obvious that this boat has seen some water. Kudos to you for your generous support and help that you give other boaters. You are a tribute to this forum which has helped me a lot after completeing my first season with my Trophy. Keep up the good work.
