I am hoping to get a couple more trips out next weekend (weather permitting) as it is our Thanksgiving weekend. Then the saddest day of the season. Start the winterising process again.
Roll on spring.
Anyone else finished their season yet ???

I just went for a ride today . The lake was calm so I decided to burn as much fuel as possible .
This season I did 28hrs of engine time compared to an average of 50hrs .
I should start the winterising process this week before it gets to cold .
We have until the 15th of this month before the marina closes .
Well I am on the trailer in the driveway but hoping to get out next weekend to burn some fuel off and give her one more "blast" before she get's fully winterised.

Winterize and stored the boat yesterday. Doing the docks and lift today. kenmyfam if your boating this weekend your crazy. Sure the sun was nice yesterday but as soon as I hit the throttle I put my tuque on!
Jobe done exept for the shrink and baking her up in the back yard .
Last year I left the trailer tires directly on the lawn . They kinda sunk a little . I'm thinking of using a 2X6 underneath just to keep the tires above ground .

2 X 6 is a good idea. I usually put the boat and trailer on stands and store the wheels inside.

coast guard pretty much ended it for everyone, they pulled the buoys last saturday.
Tell me about it. Me and my father are waiting at the docks to put a friends Baja 242 Islander on the trailer for the winter. Well without the buoys he cut the entrance to the canal to much and hit a big stump. The whole boat stopped on it's tracks and he was thrown forward on the windshield. He's ok but sure surprised him! Had to idle the rest of the way to the dock. Engine was smoking since the water intake was full of wood. SS prop is bent big time. The sterndrive is all scratched up right to the skeg. He went deep into the stump.
Not sure the total damage yet as it is still in the shop.
Put her down the side of the garage this afternoon. Lower unit oil drained and refilled. Winter cover is coming out next, mothballs, downy sheets then the tarp and that's the ball game till spring !!!

The whole month of October was cold and rainy and downright miserable weather, but I held out hope for taking the boat out fishing one last time.
Finally this past weekend was going to be nice weather, but my wife was supposed to work with a friend all day Sunday so I'd be watching the kids. So I decide to winterize the boat Saturday. Fog the motor, remove the battery & gas tank, etc.
Sunday morning she gets a call from her friend...the job fell through, she doesn't have to work. Sunday was 65 degrees and sunny. I did everything I wanted to get done for the weekend on Saturday so I have time to kill. If I just hadn't winterized the boat it woulda been a perfect day to take her out.
