Hello all, new to the forum and I have a question right off the top.... I have a '93 Bayliner Capri w/ a 90 hp Force. The Force is done, a family member (for me) purchased a 1998 Yamaha 115 hp V4 XL shaft motor. I know the Force was a long (20") shaft, the Yamaha is a 25" shaft. Has anyone raised the transom in order to use an XL shaft with luck? I know other situations will arise. I know the hole for steering and controls will have to be re drilled higher etc. However, is this a viable option?? How about a manual Jack plate ? Once set, should be good ?????????? A Jack plate should work. I have never used one, but it should gain you the extra inches you need to get the Engine mounted where it is needed...
