Default The 2009 Bayliner 194 Ski and Fish review

This is the second in a series of reviews of the 2009 Bayliner models.

Boat specs,

LOA 19.0’
Storage length with trailer, 21’8”
Beam 7’11”
Dry weight with trailer 3500 lbs.
Fuel capacity 35 gallons
Standard engine package, 4.3L 190 HP,Alpha 1 drive

Standard package includes bow well and cockpit cover,Sirius satellite radio with 6 months service.
Painted trailer with brakes and swing away tongue.

This was a great boat to drive! It handles very well with a nice dry ride.
We tested in light chop with 7-10 mph winds.
Top speed GPS was 47.5 MPH at 4800 rpms. Two people and near full fuel tank.
The interior design was very good with a great amount of storage and room.
A very large rear deck pad and nice big swim platform was very nice.
It had great under deck storage but it would be nice if they would add hinges to the access door..
The seating was very comfortable with the front bucket seats and the rear bench seat was very well padded with plenty of room.
The engine compartment was very big and the hydraulic lift arms holds the engine cover up well and requires little effort to open. .The removable front fishing seat was great and stores away to make the front a normal bow rider.
Included is a nice wireless remote control for the Motor Guide W55 trolling motor.
For a 19 footer this boat rides and drives like a much larger boat.
The helm is very user friendly with a very nice gauge package.
The controls were very smooth with the rack and pinion steering, Mercruiser control and cables. It had a very solid feel to the steering and controls..
There was plenty of room to not hit your knuckles when you push the throttle wide open.
This would be the perfect family boat mainly for water sports and occasional fishing.
Overall I really liked this model and consider it a great value.
MSRP as listed is 28,737.00

You gotta like the 4.3. How much extra for fuel injection. I really like my fuel injection

One other question.... how easy is it to remove the trolling motor and are there any large mounting plates or anything still left on the boat where the trolling motor mounts if the trolling motor is taken off for water sports? Thanks!

A little unusual to have the trolling rig so far away from the centerline. But that does keep it clear of the bow tackle, not a bad idea.

I'm not sure what the EFI upgrade would cost,Thats a good question.
The motor starts with the touch of the key unlike older carbed 4.3's
The trolling motor bracket is through bolted to the bow.It really is not in the way when riding in the bow.I'm sure it could be removed if needed.
The Remote control is nice....You can use it anywhere in the boat..
