I was fishing a tourny tonight and while making a relatively short run down the lake i heard a warning alarm. It was a intermittent alarm kind of like BEEEEEeeeepBEEEEEeeeepBEEEEEeeeeep. IT seemed when I slowed down, so did the alarm. Now I will tell you; in my bottom 2 cylinders, I believe they are numbers 5 and 6, the ones that control the VRO's oil and gas flow have somewhat low compression which I plan to get fixed in the offseason. I just hope my offseason hasn't started now. Any ideas as to what that alarm was for? Fuel restriction? No oil? Any help is greatly appreciated.............

Re: 1995 175hp intruder warning alarm

well i guess it was the no oil alarm judging by your post; thank goodness I mix a little gas and oil as well as relying on the VRO. Maybe the compression isn't good enough to pull the oil from the container? But that's strange because wouldn't it also not pull enough gas to run the motor based on what I know of how the VRO works? I will be trying to tackle this sometime very soon and any guidance of where to start my search would be great info to have. Could something be stopping up the lines from my oil container to the VRO? Is there anything else I can check or would you guys simply chalk this up as a compression issue?
