I inherited a 89 flatbottom bass tracker with trolling moter and a 25 hp outboard. It looks like it only has one battery currently. A deep cell and everything is running off it. If I get a cranking battery will that work or should I get a deep cell battery. My thoughts are to get two batteries one for the trolling and one for the outboard. Does this bass tracker have the ablitly to recharge the cranking battery?
Any thoughts.
Thanks,
Russ

Re: what type of battery-89 bass tracker

I personally would get a cranking battery and use your deep cell for trolling and fish finder etc. I would also get a two bank charger and mount it in the boat. this way you just plug the charger in and it takes care of both battery's at once and it will help maintain them as well. I don't know if your engine charges a battery or not, but if you have a fully charged one to start with you should be good to go.
