Will a 1958 25hp electric start kit fit a 1985 johnson 25hp boat motor.

I have a 1985 25hp johnson outboard engine. I also have access to a 1958 johnson 25hp with electric start. I was wondering if the electric start kit on the 1958 model would fit on my 1985 model since they are the same horse power. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

No. Completely different systems.

Also, there is no such thing as a 1958 Johnson 25 hp. The 25 hp with electric start was only offered in 1954-55.
